MSNBC’s Shuster Links Fred Phelps To Republicans, Conservatives

By
November 9, 2009

Insufferable nitwit number 2 from MSNBC, David Shuster, demonstrates his party hack bona fides by implying that hate protesters Fred Phelps and his group are somehow part of the actual conservative movement and the Republican Party, too. What an injudicious hack.

Hopefully, some of the more rational conservatives/republicans will condemn this stuff today. It was beyond the pale.

Certainly this moron must read Think Progress. They linked his tweet, after all. Pay attention stoopid, you might learn something. Do you really believe honest conservatives and Republicans go around protesting at funerals for prominent Republican conservatives, the US Military and disaster victims? You have no shame you lamed-azz excuse for a journalist. Crawl back up under Nancy Pelosi's skirt where a proper application of feminine deodorant might keep us from having to smell your stink, jerk! What a hose bag this guy is.

Fred Phelps’ Westboro Baptist Church is a hate group that goes around the country staging anti-gay rallies at some of the most inappropriate places (e.g. the funerals of former White House press secretary Tony Snow, victims of the Minneapolis bridge collapse, and U.S. troops) with messages like “Thank God For AIDS” and “God Hates Fags.”

    Democratic Party
Phelps has run in various Kansas Democratic Party primaries five times, but has never won. These included races for governor in 1990, 1994, and 1998, receiving about 15 percent of the vote in 1998.[58] In the 1992 Democratic Party primary for U.S. Senate, Phelps received 31 percent of the vote.[59] Phelps ran for mayor of Topeka in 1993[60] and 1997.[61]

Phelps actually ran for office as a Democrat. Someone needs to introduce Schuster to this nifty intarweb tool called “Google.” Comes in right handy at times, even for us ign’t teabaggers.

Phelps is a full-fledged, registered Democrat
“In 1988, Phelps housed campaign workers for Al Gore’s first presidential run; in 1989, his eldest son, Fred Jr., hosted a fundraiser for Gore’s Senate campaign at his home . . . Because of their years as loyal Democrats, the Phelpses have even been invited to — and attended — both of Clinton’s inaugurations.”

  4. How is he not an actual conservative? His obsessions and fears, and his self-created enemies, are exactly the same as yours. The issues he promotes are official Republican Party platform planks. Phelps was a conservative Democrat for a long time, but the Democrats repudiate him and officially oppose the issues he supports. The Republicans officially support the same issues.
Your objection seems to be that his tactics make you look bad. It’s your beliefs that make you look bad – his tactics are just those beliefs with the code words and social veneer stripped off.
And – not so much a hint as simply an opportunity for self-awareness – when your complaint about the deliberately offensive and repulsive tactics of your allies is immediately followed by “Pay attention stoopid . . . lamed-azz excuse . . . Crawl back up under Nancy Pelosi’s skirt . . . a proper application of feminine deodorant might keep us from having to smell your stink, jerk . . . hose bag” – you’re not really convincing anybody of your high moral stance and lack of sex-obsessed bigotry.

WTF? How old are you KTK? 13?
What an ingnorant, facile worldview to catagorize all conservatives as supporting Phelps’ “beliefs.” Maybe when you grow up you won’t believe in the boogie man any more.

    2012 IN THE BAG!
Will most Americans leave their community herds and think as individuals during the upcoming election season, or remain emotionally committed to their fears and feelings? If staying in the herd Obama’s leftward march is assured in 2012, according to Hollywood. The Rousseau-Marx coalition believes the emotions of the populace will rule in 2012, more than it did in 2008. The movie 2012 will scare people for a couple of years, with more dire threats of climate change and a few more big movie scares focused on why we need our new Messiah, Obama, and his ruling elite, reelected and in control in times of great need. If they can drive each of us into an emotion-driven herd of frightened animals, like those who stormed the Bastille or, from disturbed emotions, hang those whose differences they fear, they will have won. Their enemy is reason, plain and simple individual reason, the Thomas Jefferson way, what they claim is libertarian extremism. After all, individual freedom is what the left fears most and must defeat, with the help of Hollywood and media propagandists. Individual freedom is what made America stand above all nations in progress and prosperity. Obama can only win again if he can reduce Americans, for the most part, into a frightened herd, as he does with stimulus, health care and climate change laws. http://www.claysamerica.com

Every single instance of bigotry and categorization has come from the Democrat party.Racism, segregation, discrimination. All Democrats. The party of Lincoln. The party of emancipation. Republicans. I am not a GOP person but I do recognize the truth. I also recognize a liberal asshat when I see one. I see KTK

  8. Phelps is a phag. Anybody that obsessed with Teh Ghey has to have some latent homo tendencies himself.

  9. “Phelps was a conservative Democrat for a long time, but the Democrats repudiate him and officially oppose the issues he supports.”
    Actually, they don’t.
The Obama Party fully endorses and supports rhetoric against gays, as demonstrated by this fine example of the Obama Party base.
    http://www.adl.org/special_reports/farrakhan_own_words2/on_homosexuals.asp
As one can see, Phelps’s sort of rhetoric is fully endorsed and supported by the Obama Party and is an integral portion of the Obama Party’s base.
The hypocrisy of liberals is all too obvious when you see people like KTK who blast Phelps and try to link him to conservatives — mainly because Phelps’s rhetoric is clearly supported and repeated by the Obama Party’s base.

    phelps? please…
“Unlike most other figures deemed as cult leaders, Jones was able to gain public support and contact with prominent local and national United States politicians. For example, Jones and Moscone met privately with vice presidential candidate Walter Mondale on his campaign plane days before the 1976 election and Mondale publicly praised the Temple.[42][43] First Lady Rosalynn Carter also personally met with Jones on multiple occasions, corresponded with him about Cuba, and spoke with him at the grand opening of the San Francisco Democratic Party Headquarters where Jones garnered louder applause than Mrs. Carter.”
didn’t catch the harvey milk ‘story’ with sean penn…
    who played jim jones?

  11. HumboldtBlue says:

Yeah, Obama’s base constantly shows up at events carrying signs reading “God Hates Fags” yup, I mean you can;t shake a dead Palin child without hitting yet another liberal relying on religious bigotry to make a point. I mean, remember when Phelps was given prime time at the Democratic convention? I mean, nothing says liberal louder than a god-bothering tool who thinks a sky-daddy is very angry with his children and will kill you the first chance he gets. That’s liberalism in a nutshell.

what is the current membership? i looked, but couldn’t find…
I think your shortcomings, humboldt, is the failure to understand what the westboro baptist church is…
they aren’t designed to promote actual religious beliefs. they are designed to create free speech conflicts, hoping to shakedown local govts.
while no fan of falwell and swaggert, myself, the lumping in of fred phelps with other relgious groups would suggest a problem with short-sightedness. I guess you see what you want to see, but lack the curiousity or intellect to dig a little deeper.
otoh, looking at the black panthers in philly…
100 fold larger than the westboro baptist church, and caught on tape publicly threatening voters. Should I feel more comfortable about characterizing black panthers who are members of the same organzation committing blatantly criminal acts?

Basically, you said I post under the anonymity of the internet so it gives me a free pass to make shit up and post pure conjecture. You did no research and projected your lame ass thoughts out there. This is why conservatives have a hard time dealing with douches like you. You just make shit up and say it enough until people start to believe it. There are no repercussions for you to do so. At least Riehl has his credibility on the line, but what do liberal talking-point zombies have? Stop making shit up…
