Joran Van der Sloot: Stephany Flores Ramirez Murder Details Emerge

June 8, 2010

Update: Also, more details here, in addition to those below.

LIMA, Peru – Joran van der Sloot confessed to the slaying of a 21-year-old woman in a Lima hotel room, a high-ranking Peruvian government official told NBC News on Monday.

According to La Republica newspaper, van der Sloot said he broke Stephany Flores' neck after she grabbed his laptop without his permission and found out that he was involved in the disappearance of an American woman.

The paper quoted van der Sloot as saying, "I did not want to do it. The girl intruded into my private life."

The news of the confession is in a previous post. CNN has additional details of the murder in Peru from a leaked police report. It appears the confession would get him a lighter sentence. It's reported he could be looking at 35 years.

According to the document, the Hotel Tac, where van der Sloot was staying, received a call from someone looking for him about 11 p.m. June 1. The receptionist forwarded the call, but no one answered. The hotel worker assumed that van der Sloot was asleep because the room key was with him and not the front desk.

About an hour later, according to the police report, the receptionist noticed that van der Sloot owed money for two nights and went up to his room, where her knocks went unanswered. The television was blaring, so the hotel employee figured he was resting, the report says.

Afterward, the hotel supervisor told the employee to go back to van der Sloot's room and enter using a spare key. When the employee went in, she found Flores' body on the floor, dressed in a black T-shirt and red panties, half-covered with a piece of white clothing, the police report said.

Flores was bleeding from her nose, the report said.

The hotel employee became frightened at the sight and went to alert her supervisor and the police, turning off the television and lights on her way out of the room, the report said.

I doubt this is true. This is one more lie by a pathological liar trying to get himself out of the situation. Murder/robbery is punished very heavily in Peru so he wants to establish that his motive was not robbery even though he took the girl’s jewelry and money.
Unless there is some seriously incriminating information on his computer–and what could it be other than another set of lies about Natalee Holloway–then this is not going to hold up.
He’s already thinking about how he can get his sentence served in The Netherlands instead of Peru, hopefully the Peruvian authoriteis aren’t as gullible as the Aruban ones and they stick him with several decaced to be served in country.

Hey, anon, she violated his privacy, for God’s sake. Any librul will tell you that is the worst thing a person could do.

From what I have been able to ascertain about Peruvian law, extradition, etc….pooow widdle Jowan is scweded….awwwwwwwwwwwww…….

  4. hey ddon't do the we can't comment says:

Violated his privacy? So that’s a reason to beat someone to death. Hmmm Glad I can’t wrap my head around that.

  5. Rich says:

Intruded on his private life??? Hey Joran, Google your name, idiot. You’re all over the internet because of your actions. I wouldn’t call that private.

  6. Tonestaple says:

The maid turned off the lights and TV on her way out of the room? Don’t they have constant Law & Order re-runs in Peru?

  7. anon says:

Poor countries can’t afford liberals…the Dutch are already complaining that this dirtbag might not get a fair trial and and how terrible it is they police showed him off at a news conference. Awe. The Dutch, living in a rich, homogenus society can afford to coddle criminals–even patholotical liar, serial confessor murderes like van der Sloot– and to opine about theoretical issues. In Peru, not so much. They’re not going to allow for the same games that this kid played in Aruba.

  8. Hydrangea says:

All I can say is FINALLY! It would be great if someday Natalee’s body is found but I’m sure Beth has some relief that this dirt bag will be put away for a LONG LONG time.

  9. Hydrangea says:

BTW Dan, Your’s was the first site I came to after hearing of the confession! You always have the latest!

  10. cc says:

They say that the police in peru are taking Joran to the hotel for a renactment of the crime. Does anyone else remember Joran getting out of the car in handcuffs in aruba at the beach by the fishermen’s huts to renact how he “left natalee on the beach that night”? God I hope they don’t let him talk, and talk, and talk like aruba did and let him lie his way out of this. Don’t give him the ability to manipulate the investigation, just go on the evidence that they have and make him just shut up!

  11. anon says:

I think they already have enough evidence no matter what he says, there is video tape of him w/the victim, two go in, one comes out, the shirt he was wearing when they went in was allegedly left on her dead body, if he beat her to death there is probably also some DNA, he stole her car…doesn’t matter what kind of nonsense he comes up with. And, this ain’t Aruba, there is no nambly pamby OMGODWECANTCONVICTWITHOUT300%CERTAINTY kind of crap in Peru, only preponderance of evidence to confirm guilt.
I really think he put Natalee in the ocean, he swam her body out right there and got lucky that the current took it, if there was ANY chance of her body being recovered I don’t think he would have made so many false confessions…he was able to do this because he is totally certain her body will never be foun.

  12. Hydrangea says:

I wonder what would have happened if this latest murder took place in Aruba. There are so many possible scenarios…more from the keystone cops, more retracted confessions and lie after lie, Dutch government intervention, on and on. Just sayin….it would have been interesting! Peru….don’t let us down. I don’t think you will! ;^)

  13. cc says:

In the OJ Simpson the judge was a joke and lost control of the trial, the jury was a joke, in aruba the police chief at the time of natalee’s disappearance was a joke, the district attorneys in aruba were jokes, God please let this panel of three judges in peru be intelligent, ethical, competent individuals so that this matter can be settled once and for all so that these victims, these families can feel that justice is still out there. That the evil that exists in this world such as Joran, his father, the police chief in aruba, etc. do not win out over the good. I’m sure Joran’s father is paying for what he did and hopefully
Joran will pay soon. I cannot begin to imagine what Beth and Dave Holloway have been through. No one in this world deserves that kind of pain, to lose a child and to then be allowed to be tortured for years by her killer. How are the people in aruba who are involved in allowing this monster to walk around torturing people able to put their heads on a pillow at night and sleep?

  14. Tom says:

Saw a report on the jail to which he would go: 35 men to a room and no toilet – just a hole in the floor.
Hope nobody tries to extradite him. 35 years in that will be 35 lifetimes of hell for mommy and daddy’s spoiled little brat who thinks he can get away with anything. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
