Reuters Links Soros Money, Anti-Capitalist Group To Wall Street Protests

October 13, 2011

Obama, Soros, Adbusters – throw in a senior Obama advisor at  ground level – well, you get the drift. As I've said before, this is the beginning of Re-elect Obama 2012. Talk about CREEP, blah.

There has been much speculation over who is financing the disparate protest, which has spread to cities across America and lasted nearly four weeks. One name that keeps coming up is investor George Soros, who in September debuted in the top 10 list of wealthiest Americans. Conservative critics contend the movement is a Trojan horse for a secret Soros agenda.

Soros and the protesters deny any connection. But Reuters did find indirect financial links between Soros and Adbusters, an anti-capitalist group in Canada which started the protests with an inventive marketing campaign aimed at sparking an Arab Spring type uprising against Wall Street. Moreover, Soros and the protesters share some ideological ground.

  2. Ragspierre says:

An online “Occupy Threat Center” created by ListenLogic says the company’s analysis of “over one million social media posts” indicates a significant increases in all of the following:
-Social media activity from Occupy supporters and activists promoting physical destruction and violent action.
-Direct and specific threats from Occupy “hacktivist” groups against specific financial and law enforcement targets.
-Social media posts, videos and images targeting: financial institutions that issue mortgages and student loans and that initiate foreclosures; corporate entities that received bailout money or government subsidies; companies that pay high executive salaries or bonuses; and companies perceived to be paying extremely low taxes.
ListenLogic is detecting, he says, a change in the tone of discourse about the so-called 1 percent richest Americans.
There still are postings that talk about taxing the 1 percent more severely or even throwing them in jail. “But then,” says Schiavone, “there’s an increase in ‘let’s kill’ them. We see ‘eat the rich,’ ‘kill the wealthy.’ There are images circulating of senior executives being decapitated, images of blood. Artists are releasing images of banks on fire.”

  4. Ragspierre says:

But how do you overthrow the government and leave its Commander in Chief in power?
The anti-establishment crowd affiliated with the Occupy Wall Street protesters has gone out of their way to emphasize that they’re not protesting him when he visits Detroit Friday.
The grassroots group known as Occupy Detroit has planned its occupation for Friday — the same day President Barack Obama will visit the Metro area.
But the group doesn’t plan to protest the president, who will visit General Motors Co.’s Orion Assembly Plant with South Korean President Lee Myung-bak to herald the pending U.S.-South Korea free trade agreement.
They’re anti-establishment, but not opposed to the current head of government. Somehow, despite his running the executive branch of American government, they see no reason to hold him accountable for any of their grievances.
Or as Noemie Emery writes today, “Protesters won’t dare picket Obama.” When I was kid, I remember anti-establishment forces took their poses a lot more seriously.

“Beginning from one simple demand – a presidential commission to separate money from politics – we start setting the agenda for a new America.”
From the simple demand in the ad…I can tell…somebody wants something done….and done in a certain way…

Wow, how racist can one be? USA American, I cannot fathom that a liberal like you could possibly be so racist against an African American. Herman Cain’s parents were probably more discriminated against as opposed to as Terry likes to call him “the Kenyan”. Cain has more than likely experienced more racism and yet he was able to work and be succesful in business.
I guess it is only racism when conservatives disagree with an African American, but not when a liberal disagrees with a conservative African American. The double standard just boggles rational thought.

Seal Beach shooting: Suspect suffered PTSD from boat injury
    October 13, 2011 | 10:42 am
The suspect in the Seal Beach salon shooting rampage, Scott Evans Dekraai, 42, suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder as the result of a tugboat accident in 2007, according to court records.
His doctor, Ronald T. Silverstein of Long Beach, made the diagnosis in court documents dated Sept. 30, 2008, that were contained in Dekraai’s divorce and custody proceedings.
The letter also stated that repeated phone calls from Dekraai’s ex-wife Michelle Fournier -– the alleged target of Wednesday’s shooting -– were “extremely stressful” and “not healthy” for Dekraai.
Full coverage: Deadly shooting at Seal Beach beauty salon
As a result of that letter, the court limited contact between the couple to only one telephone call a week, initiated by Fournier.
The tugboat accident occurred in February 2007. A deckhand, 26-year-old Piper Cameron, was killed when she was crushed by a rope attached from the tug to the barge. Dekraai witnessed the accident and suffered a broken leg.
Dekraai for years has worked on tugboats, sportfishing vessels and barges, and his former boss said he was a fun-loving, hard worker — the last person you would expect to snap.
But after Dekraai nearly lost his legs in that accident, he was permanently disabled, according to Don Ashley, owner of Pierpoint Landing in Long Beach, where he worked aboard the company’s fleet of sportfishing boats for about 10 years.
Dekraai worked his way up from apprentice deckhand to getting his captain’s license, working for Catalina Express, and later, on a tugboat run by the firm Foss Maritime, Ashley said in an interview.
Before that mishap, he was a well-regarded worker and friend — just one of the guys, Ashley said.
Proving, once again, there is no lie that UAssMORON will not tell/republish from the Moonbattery.

Good work, Clownselor. Way to cite a story that does nothing to contradict what I said, or in any way supports what your blatherings. Do we have to go to the video tape yet again, Clownselor? It’s always fun to shove facts in your face and watch you squirm in an effort to defend the Borg Collective at all costs.
Also, too, please illustrate the “all documented” Soros >>>> Open Society >>>> Tides >>>> Adbusters conspiracy haunting your fever dreams. Numbers, Clownselor. Verifiable numbers. Whoops, I guess I haven’t learned my lesson. I asked you to back up something with factually verifiable data. And, like all good “trial lawyers,” you don’t *believe* in that.

  19. Ragspierre says:

    People can read, UAssMORON.
I’ll leave it them to assay your madness.

  20. USA American says:

This was also, in some aspects, a domestic dispute. Too bad the Clownselor didn’t advise his brother-in-arms to perpetrate this violence in Topeka, where such violence is encouraged.

  21. Huey says:

Just a note to the brain-damaged.
It doesn’t MATTER if a killer is Christian, Jew, or Muslim – conservative, liberal, or moderate – black, white, or other – homosexual, heterosexual, or other – UNLESS it is that aspect which CAUSED or provided the impetus for the murderer to commit murder as PERCEIVED BY THE MURDERER.
Everything said to the contrary is just monkeys throwing excrement in hopes it will stick.

  22. USA American says:

    “People can read.”
Yet you never provide them with anything factually verifiable TO read. Like all good “trial lawyers.”

  23. USA American says:

“It doesn’t MATTER if a killer is Christian, Jew, or Muslim – conservative, liberal, or moderate – black, white, or other – homosexual, heterosexual, or other – UNLESS it is that aspect which CAUSED or provided the impetus for the murderer to commit murder as PERCEIVED BY THE MURDERER.”
Haha, nice standard you invented there, Clownselor. “Hey, it doesn’t matter because I don’t “PERCEIVE” it to matter.” That’s really wingnuttery 101 right there, actually. We’ll keep that in mind the next time you infer that unrelated persons are responsible for the bad acts of others with whom they may share a political affiliation. You know, your whole act.
Also, too, look out, patriots, Michelle Bachmann wants to raise your taxes:

  24. Ragspierre says:

In 2011, the City will use your taxes, rate dollars, service charges, fines, and fees to:
l Maintain over 2000 lane miles of streets.
l Produce and distribute an average of 25 million gallons of water per day.
l Treat an average of 28 million gallons of wastewater per day.
l Maintain 1600 acres of parks, operate 5 community centers, 5 swimming pools,
3 skateboard parks, a children’s theater, and the Old Prairie Town attraction.
l Respond to about 15,000 calls for fire and medical service.
l Pays for 300 police officers and 65 support personnel.
l Process more than 21,000 Municipal Court citations.
l Conduct over 11,000 building inspections.
l Provide $897,000 to various public service organizations, including youth and
    social service agencies.
l Provide maintenance for the Kansas River levee, including 10 storm water
pump stations and 50 smaller flap gates.
l Provide $5.0 million from the City’s portion of the County-wide half cent sales
tax to support the Joint Economic Development Organization which is
governed by elected City and County officials.
    l Maintain a 33-acre, accredited zoo.
l Fund major and minor home rehabilitations for 110 homes.
That is where Topeka chooses to spend its money, UAssMORON.
Betcha I could find enough to assure criminals were prosecuted. Not that you would approve…
Your ONLY solution would be higher taxes.
Betcha they STILL prosecute minor traffic violations. Why? Because it is a TAX essentially.

  25. USA American says:

My bad, I inadvertently attributed Huey’s statement to the Clownselor.

  26. USA American says:

“Betcha I could find enough to assure criminals were prosecuted.”
Then take it up with the good people of Topeka, professor. Why the f*ck are you preening about it to me?
“Your ONLY solution would be higher taxes.”
Cost < benefit. See how that works?

  27. Ragspierre says:

What point is made when reporting that a murderer is Christian, Muslim, or Jew – or White, Black, or Other – or Homosexual, Heterosexual, or Other –
If that attribute isn’t perceived by the murderer as the cause or the impetus to commit murder?
Unless the attribute is perceived by the murderer as the cause or the impetus for his committing the murder, then that attribute has NOTHING TO DO with the act of murder, so, the only reason to link that attribute to the murder in such circumstance is to SMEAR OTHERS WHO POSSESS THE SAME ATTRIBUTE.
But, this is “sanity 101″ or “introductory logic” so …

Over the last 30 years, the 1% have created a global economic system – neoliberalism – that attacks our human rights and destroys our environment. Neoliberalism is worldwide – it is the reason you no longer have a job, it is the reason you cannot afford healthcare, education, food, your mortgage.
    Neoliberalism is your future stolen.
Neoliberalism is everywhere, gutting labor standards, living wages, social contracts, and environmental protections. It is “a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money.” [A quote from Matt Taibbi, child rapist] It is a system that ravages the global south and creates global financial crisis – crisis in Spain, in Greece, in the United States. It is a system built on greed and thrives on destablizing shocks.
It allows the 1% to enrich themselves by impoverishing humanity.
“Neoliberalism” is Collective-speak for, broadly, CLASSICAL liberalism expressed economically.
    Things like–
    1. Fiscal restraint
    2. Privatization
    3. Stable monetary policy
    4. Free trade
    5. Deregulation
    6. Private property rights
    7. Market economics

So, INFINITE regulatory burdens = FULL EMPLOYMENT…!!!

  39. USA American says:

Wow, Clownselor, Tides gave Adbusters “nearly $26,000 between 2007-2009.” NEARLY 26 grand in a three year period, preceding the present by, what? Two years? So SOOOOOOOOROOOOOOS gave money to Tides in 2009, KNOWING that Tides would give money to Adbusters in order to fund the 99ers in 2011? You’re literally too paranoid to breath, Clownselor. You know who else Tides gives to, genius? The Ford Foundation and the Gates Foundation.
know this is too advanced for the Clownselor to understand, but the fact that Soros gave money to Tides and that Tides gave money to Adbusters in no way means that there’s an “indirect financial link” between the two. As the Reuters reporter from the link below explains (and even a 7 year old should understand this): “That’s like saying that there’s an “indirect financial link” between me and Mitt Romney, because I lend money to Citigroup (I’m a depositor at Citibank), and Citigroup has given money to Romney.”
Moving on, you know who also knows you’re full of Sh*t, Clownselor? Reuters.
Here’s some ACTUAL reporting on how the 99ers are ACTUALLY raising money: “Kickstarter.”
See that, f*ck wits? Actual numbers reported from verifiable sources.
So, Mr. Riehl, when will you correct the lies you’ve asserted here, or at least update the reporting?
What’s REALLY funny about all this is, who cares who George Soros gives his money to? Paranoid, whining wingnuts, that’s who.

  54. Ragspierre says:

Rick Pate, the owner of a commercial landscaping company in Montgomery, lost two of his most experienced workers, who were in the country legally. He spent thousands of dollars training them to install irrigation systems at places like the Hyundai plant.
“They just feel like there is a negative atmosphere for them here. They don’t feel welcome. I don’t begrudge them. I’d feel nervous, too,” Pate said.
    –UAssMORON’s cite
    Let us reason together….
Mr. Pate’s ILLEGAL workers don’t feel “welcome”. Awww….
    So, they decamp.
Mr. Pate NEEEEEEEEDS workers to install lawn sprinklers (which a moderately intelligent UAssMORON can do).
Any moderately intelligent job-seekers in Alabama? Georgia? Mississippi?
Demand (for labor) is MET by SUPPLY.
And UAssMORON is shown for the idiot she is.
    Some more.
    Another time.

  55. Ragspierre says:

    Well, Terry, I read that.
I just didn’t AUTOMATICALLY believe what I was told.
Now, MAYBE they were. That makes their behavior BEEEEE-ZARE, along with their employer’s behavior.
See, let us assume arguendo that these employees were family men.
We have two family men quitting (putatively) good jobs and uprooting their families out of some IRRATIONAL and UNFOUNDED fear.
You have their employer (who putatively needed them) just letting them do that without making any attempt to EDUCATE HIMSELF AND THEM as to reality.
See? It just was incredible. Not impossible. Just incredible.
That is, to someone who thinks.

  56. Ragspierre says:

Terry, I would avoid…like the plague…ANY allusion to inbreeding.
    How’s your grandpa/daddy/uncle?

  57. Ragspierre says:

    Oh, and BTW, Terry.
I don’t think the article specified the ethnicity of Pate’s workers.
Your ASSumption that they were Hispanic is ANOTHER example of your GRINDING RACISM.
    Like we need one.
    You poor, inbred, racist, MORON.

  58. Ragspierre says:

Well, Bad Luck Barry’s ObamaCare is marching toward the ash-heap of history…
***Long after Obamacare was passed and signed into, even prominent supports of the bill acknowledged that the CLASS Act was a financial disaster waiting to happen.
***Senate Budget Committee chairman Kent Conrad (D., N.D) called it “a Ponzi scheme of the first order, the kind of thing Bernie Madoff would be proud of.”***
Health and Human Services secretary Kathleen Sebelius admitted it was “totally unsustainable” in its current form.
***But again, that was after Obamacare had been enacted.***
In fact, under the new law, HHS has until Oct. 1, 2012 to finalize the program’s requirements, to be imposed through regulation. Because the law (no doubt intentionally) left vague many of the plan’s key provisions, there is currently no way to reliably assess the program or estimate its potential cost.
As the [Republican] investigative report reveals, administration officials had been warning about the program’s long-term sustainability in the months before the law was passed, yet ignored, and in some cases marginalized these concerns as the White House pushed ahead with its landmark legislation. E-mails uncovered by the working group show that such concerns were first raised back in May 2009, nearly a year before Obamacare’s passage, by Medicare chief actuary Richard Foster. “At first glance this proposal doesn’t look workable,” he wrote in an e-mail to other HHS officials. “Due to the limited scope of the insurance coverage, the voluntary CLASS plan would probably not attract many participants other than individuals who already meet the criteria to qualify as beneficiaries.”
***Even so, Foster estimated that the CLASS program would have to enroll about 234 million people, which is greater than the entire U.S. population aged 20 and above, in order to sustain itself.***
What you get when you have to “pass it to find out what’s in it”.

In Obama’s telling, it’s the refusal of the rich to “pay their fair share” that jeopardizes Medicare. If millionaires don’t pony up, schools will crumble. Oil-drilling tax breaks are costing teachers their jobs. Corporate loopholes will gut medical research.
It’s crude. It’s Manichaean. And the left loves it. As a matter of math and logic, however, it’s ridiculous. Obama’s most coveted tax hike — an extra 3 to 4.6 percent for millionaires and billionaires (weirdly defined as individuals making more than $200,000) — would have reduced last year’s deficit (at the very most) from $1.29 trillion to $1.21 trillion. Nearly a rounding error. The oil-drilling breaks cover less than half a day’s federal spending. You could collect Obama’s favorite tax loophole — depreciation for corporate jets — for 100 years and it wouldn’t cover one month of Medicare, whose insolvency is a function of increased longevity, expensive new technology and wasteful defensive medicine caused by an insane malpractice system.
After three years, Obama’s self-proclaimed transformative social policies have yielded a desperately weak economy. What to do? Take the low road: Plutocrats are bleeding the country, and I shall rescue you from them.
Problem is, this kind of populist demagoguery is more than intellectually dishonest. It’s dangerous. Obama is opening a Pandora’s box. Popular resentment, easily stoked, is less easily controlled, especially when the basest of instincts are granted legitimacy by the nation’s leader.
But “community organizing” really is Bad Luck Barry’s only KNOWN job experience.
    It is also his ideology.
