Sorry for the unplanned, extended absence. I could post the
boring details I've shared with friends, family and colleagues – a
planned break, combined with a dental surgery, complicated by the
flu and yadda, yadda. But why bother? I could simply claim to have
been having an affair with Herman
An interesting item by Moe Lane linked below. However, along
with never having heard of some minor former Bush flack with whom
Rubin seems so ridiculously smitten, as a Conservative, it opens up
another question for me. How is a liberal re-tread like Rubin who
uses a platform like the Washington...
Wondering if one of the unwritten rules of this non-traditional
campaign is that everyone will speak in the third person when spoken to.
BLOCK: You know, Stacy, and I’m not blowing smoke up your ass –-
no pun intended — but you’re one of the few that get that this is
Yesterday Jennifer Rubin was attacking Herman Cain. Before that, it was Rick Perry. Today it's Newt's turn. With once favorite, NJ Gov
Chris Christie electing to not run, rumor has it she's rather
miffed at the NJ Gov for his forcing her into bed with Mitt
Sorry for putting that...
Great! I can hardly wait to see him take the podium at his first
White House presser. That ought to be a real hoot! As if, … We don't
need no steenking competence. We're conservative!
Apparently, Block is staying put with the Cain campaign. A
highly placed Cain source sent the Water...
Mitt Romney certainly looked gracious last night when he didn't pick up on a question
about Cain's harassment allegations, didn't he?
Romney was cheered when he declined to answer when asked if he
would hire an executive facing similar charges.
Funny, it sure seemed to be a big...
The latest, sad laugh line mouthed by the Herman Cain
“Based upon information available at the time of Mr. Block’s
Tuesday night interview on Fox News, the campaign was led to
believe that Mr. Josh
currently with the National Journal and a former employee of
Politico, was the son of...
Pictured, Karen Kraushaar at a December 1999 news conference.
Looks like we may be nearing end game, one way or the other. As I
said to someone earlier, the NRA has released Kraushaar from
confidentiality restrictions. It's unclear to me if there's
anything preventing her from making the actual original
Mark Block goes full face plant again on Fox.
Lawd, someone stops me cuz I can't stops mahself!
Prediction: You’re going to see three camps quickly emerge on
this story. Camp one: “I can’t believe Block threw that accusation
out there without confirming it.” Camp two: “Maybe … Block was
People know by now I'm not a big Cain backer, more from
differences on substance and policy issues, than the recent sexual
harassment feeding frenzy. That said, while his presser didn't
change my view and I saw some folks going on about the third person
stuff, I didn't think he did all that bad. As for what comes next,
I don't know and it certainly may hurt him. But take a look at the
opinion of WaPo's house conservative, Jennifer Rubin, then tell me
she isn't a bigger problem for conservatives,...
And is it any wonder that Herman Cain has shed a lot of
high-level campaign staff members, both within his national
organization and in crucial early states like Iowa and New
Hampshire? Most of these former staff members have signed
nondisclosure agreements, and others would speak to me...
There's been some people reacting to a clip I posted of Herman
Cain losing his temper by saying they admired it. The problem is,
it also shows him to be a liar. In it, Cain blames what he had said
previously on "someone on the Internet." As the video below
Yeah, I'm taking a closer look. So what, he's running for POTUS? Seriously?? Twenty seconds in. Oh yeah, America's going to love that. If this guy ever does a serious press conference under pressure, he had better be medicated.
Just an observation on perhaps why Herman Cain resonates with
some the way he does.
Though he claims to have received the idea from a bank employee
named Richard Lowrie Jr. in Ohio, observers are now questioning if
the true inspiration is the tax code used on the SimCity video
Mark McKinnon of, I won't attack Obama and No
Labels infamy says not yet. I agree; however, Mitt is hitting
Perry hard in Iowa and ignoring Cain for a reason. He wants to take
Iowa and New Hampshire to make it appear as though he's inevitable,
hoping that will carry him...
Bill Jacobson will be live blogging. If Newt has a
shot, it's through Cain's falling from the presumed top tier. It'll
be interesting if that factors into Newt's approach. Also, as I
doubt it will be broadly watched, it will likely be framed by sound
bytes and take-aways, more than the...
