Afghanistan: Bastion attack killed Lt. Col. Christopher Raible, 40, and Sgt. Bradley Atwell, 27
“U.S. forces in Afghanistan were moving forward Monday following a bold attack on Camp Bastion that killed two Marines, including the commanding officer of a Harrier squadron, wounded nine other U.S. personnel and destroyed six Harrier jump jets.
Lt. Col. Christopher Raible, 40, and Sgt. Bradley Atwell, 27, were killed after 15 insurgents armed with automatic rifles, rocket-propelled grenades and suicide vests breached the perimeter of Bastion about 10 p.m. Friday. Raible served as the commanding officer of Marine Attack Squadron 211, and Atwell was assigned to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 13. Both units are out of Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz.”

Damn, that Internet movie clip is still pissing people off, isn’t it????
I wish those two fine young men were still with us, and the murderous pirates who killed them were worm food.
Almost all of them are worm food. Only one insurgent survived the attack and he was wounded. You only need one to question for intel.
I just got back from Bastion and personally worked with Sgt. Atwell. He was a good man and will be missed throughout the Corps. RIP brother and Semper Fi!!!
Thank you for your service, Marine.
It was such an honor to know Brad. He was a hilarious guy and good friend.
LtCol Rabile was a friend, we served together and will be missed.
GOD Bless these Marines. Sir it was a pleasure to serve with you. GOD Bless your wife and children. Semper Fidelis.
I was working a flight today from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh and saw pictures on these ladies laptop of beautiful children..i commented on how cute they are and they told me their father was just killed and they had been to dover to see their son and brothers body..christopher raible was a very loved son and brother and may his family find peace in this terrible time in their lives..so very very sad
Lt. Col. Chris Raible was a close, personal friend of my brother Lt. Col. Thomas Gore. Their friendship spanned well over a decade in the Corps. They flew many missions together both in times of war and peace. My brother is heart broken. I have heard so many stories over the years that began with ” My friend Chris… ” I’m honored I finally met him in the Spring of 2010. My thoughts & prayers will not cease for the Raible Family. Chris will never be forgotten.
