Claim: State Department Sent Gay Man to be ambassador to Muslim country
Report via HillBuzz. I’ve no idea, nor am I confident it should have factored into anything. Presumably his professional and private lives were lived separately. Certainly, being openly gay in an extremist Islamic setting would likely be far from ideal. But there’s nothing to suggest it had anything to do with his murder, so far as I can tell.
Terrorists do not discriminate.
Today I went out into the field here in Chicago looking to talk to some of the striking teachers but no one in a red-shirt was anywhere to be found or, if they were wearing one, they had nothing to do with the teachers’ union strike. A journalist friend of mine asked me to nose around and see if I could uncover anything about slain Ambassador Chris Stevens, who was rumored to be gay.
