Mitt Romney limited deductions, overpaid on $13 million income
This Mitt bit via Mail Online. How much do you want to bet, Harry Reid didn’t do the same? Nevada Republican to Harry Reid: Make our day, release your 2011 tax return
Mail Online: Mitt and Ann Romney deliberately paid more taxes than they needed on their $13.6 million income last year, it has been revealed. The presidential hopeful’s campaign released their tax records for 2011, showing he paid a total of $1.9million in taxes, giving him a rate of 14.1 per cent. They also donated just over $4 million to charity, double the amount of the Obamas.
It was also revealed that the Romneys deliberately limited deductions for charitable giving, meaning that they voluntarily paid more tax than legally required.

Reid is now complaining that by claiming
fewer deductions than Romney could have
to keep his rate up to a 13% minimum,
that he was “manipulating” his taxes so who
knows what other “manipulations” he did in
writing his taxes.
Let’s assume for the moment that Reid is right: Mitt’s sole purpose was to maintain his effective tax rate above 13%, because he’d already given away too much money in 2011. The proper response to that claim is “okay, so what?”
What conclusion are we supposed to draw? That Mitt is too generous to his selected donors? That Mitt is too generous to the IRS? That Mitt wants to deprive the Dems of a class-warfare talking point?
None of these are nefarious. And none of them provide any support for Reid’s old, preposterous, slanderous idea that Mitt paid no federal income taxes or for his new assertion that Mitt is hiding something.
Reid needs to realize that this whole thing is played, so played and he just should pack it in.
You know that by now the WH has had the IRS audit the last 10 or so years of Romney tax returns. If they had found anything even slightly wrong, it would be all over the MSM.
