No Live Ammo for Marines defending the American embassy in Egypt

U.S. Marines defending the American embassy in Egypt were not permitted by the State Department to carry live ammunition, limiting their ability to respond to attacks like those this week on the U.S. consulate in Cairo.

    Though it would not surprise anyone were it true, Marine Corps major (the USMC Congressional Liaison) issued statement today saying the Ambassador in Cairo did not restrict live ammo and the USMC guards were in fact armed.
