Read this:

Gurnee police dog Shane and Buffalo Grove four-legged cop Saxon join other working canines during Wednesday’s unveiling ceremony for the Northern Illinois Police K-9 Memorial. It’s at Highland Memorial Park near Gurnee and open to the public.

Then read this and please tell me I’m missing something. Otherwise, this is beyond outrageous.

Smalltown Mayor Blocks Effort to Honor War Dead

Residents of the village of Gurnee, Ill., simply wanted to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, leaving behind wives, children and extended family and friends — and then they ran into Mayor Kristy Kovarik.

I would say that this woman has something else in mind for the property. It wouldn’t be the first time that someone was elected Mayor to a small community and quickly transformed into a back-stabbing dictator.

The reason for the memorial notwithstanding, the actions of city hall to manipulate the courts should be enough to have her removed as mayor or at the very least, instigate an inquiry. Hopefully she will be out on her a** at the next mayoral election.

Mae, I have actually heard rumblings about that very possibility. Her behavior is pretty telling that something is going on. Private money was raised for this so something about her behavior just doesn’t pass the smell test.
