State Department: No more questions on Benghazi atrocity

I don’t think that’s their call. If it comes to it, Congress will ask whatever questions they please. Via Darleen Click at protein wisdom.

The State Department told reporters Friday afternoon that it won’t answer any more questions about the Sept. 11 attack on the consulate in Benghazi that killed four Americans until the investigation into the incident is complete.

“I’m going to frustrate all of you, infinitely, by telling you that now that we have an open FBI investigation on the death of these four Americans, we are not going to be in a position to talk at all about what the U.S. government may or may not be learning about how any of this this happened — not who they were, not how it happened, not what happened to Ambassador Stevens, not any of it….

SOP in the Obama administration. A story gets too hot to handle, you stonewall. Just shut down all public comment.

And Congress can ask all the questions it likes, but whether they get truthful, accurate and complete answers or any answers at all is another story entirely. Juts look at how the DoJ has handled the Fast & Furious investigation. The House is just now calling for a floor vote on Holder’s contempt of Congress citation.

The media’s only hope, our only hope is that in the interest of CYA both the White House and Foggy Bottom begin to leak like sieves.

Silver lining: if this becomes a pissing match between Hillary and Barry it would be sweeeeet!

I think we will see leaks if and when anything that casts a bad light on the intelligence community becomes front and center. They have a knack to protect themselves (react?) to the now common routine of being thrown under the bus by this administration. And it is becoming more evident that there was like some degree of intelligence, to what extent it is not yet clear, that may have been ignored and contributed to the events.
