DeVore said as much on Afghanistan back in 2009

If you read what Jack Kelly points out today as regards Afghanistan, “We lost,” –  then re-visit Chuck Devore’s take in 2009 when he was battling Fiorina, you’ll note that DeVore was spot on. Carly, not so much.

“The first reason is that the number of Americans is insufficient for the task at hand and added incrementally as to give the Taliban a chance to adjust.
“The second reason is that Afghanistan is not Iraq — that fractious nation is a pacific and unitary monolith set against the stridently tribal and xenophobic culture of the Pashtun regions that support the Taliban and their al-Qaeda allies. The Afghan government is thoroughly corrupt and infamously weak. Other than foreign aid and opium, it has no means of earning revenue. And its constitution was written by the French, providing for a strong central government, contrary to Afghan practice and culture which would have been better suited to a confederation model. These factors conspire to ensure the Afghan government won’t survive long after the American exit.”

This is true. Romney/Ryan need to hear this.

I think all Pubs with the exception of McCain and Graham know this.

They just don’t dare express it.
