I honestly have no idea but this is the first link that came up when I Googled Obama 2006. It’s from ABC’s Jake Tapper  in April of 2011 but has no video with the story.

 In March 2006, then-Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., found the notion of raising the debt ceiling quite distasteful.

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure,” he said. “It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here.’ Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better. I therefore intend to oppose the effort to increase America’s debt limit.”

    I’m trying to figure it out too. A six year old video just happens to coincide with the first/last term of a new senator named Barack Obama. The pessimistic side of me unfortunately believes this will be another Romney hit piece.

    Yeah that mothejones video was a hit piece: I mean how dare the American public now the the thoughts of a possible president. That’s not their right. BOW DOWN and submit. And as far as being about the debt ceiling, that’s hardly shocking. Everyone knows Obama oppossed it in 2006. Of course, it would be nice t hear the context of it. Was the ceiling going to be breached. Did every dem vote against it? Like the Republicans? Or was it just grandstanding by Obama. No bug deal. Every pol does it. So I think its something else. Not sure. it says racism–both ways. Im intrigued.

    Funny how the manure-stream media only thinks we have a right to know about Barry Soetoro’s opponent’s past….never about Barry’s past. Thankfully a lot of Barry’s dirt has gotten out thanks to digging from alternative media doing the job mainstream media don’t want to do. Of course most Americans don’t REAL alternative media…and that is a crime.
