No, really.

The hamster “was not not using any safety equipment,” wrote Officer Mike Rowe in a post, titled “A Hamster Was Taken Into Protective Custody,” on the Beaverton Police Department’s Facebook page.

Huey got out of the vehicle, “leaving the hamster to watch from the dashboard,” according to the post.

She reportedly told an officer that there was no one who could come pick up the hamster, and said they “should just kill it.”

Not one for murder, the officer told her that they would not harm the animal and would take it to a safe location.

“It took three officers to capture the furry little passenger,” according to Rowe’s post.
