5 Serious Questions On Smoking Gun Benghazi Cable That Deserve Answers

By
November 1, 2012

James Carafano at The Heritage Foundation asks 5 fundamental and serious questions about the Benghazi cable that was ignored by the Obama Administration.

The cable concluded that the consulate could not withstand a “coordinated attack.” Further, the cable identified terrorist groups that were operating in the area. The existence of this document raises some serious questions.

1. Why was the cable kept secret for so long?

2. How could anyone rule out a terrorist attack?

3. Why didn’t the Administration provide any interim findings of their investigation into the Benghazi attack?

4. Why wasn’t a coordinated rapid response force ready to go?

5. How long do we have to wait to get answers to obvious questions?

James expands and weighs in on each question intelligently. Head to Heritage to read his input. James rightly concludes:

After the first 9/11, all we asked was for a government to be better at “connecting the dots” and then sharing that information. We have a right to know why our government has failed miserably at this fundamental task.

I would further conclude that we have the right to know – or at least have an honest effort from FedGov at discovering – why our government failed before the presidential election. We deserve better than a dog & pony show after November 6.

Glen Beck says Obama was running guns to Turkey and Al Queda and that 2 media outlets have information they are holding until after the election. Why is no one talking about these stories?

  2. Slartibartfast says:

Because Glenn Beck is just making things up, perhaps? He’s not exactly well-known for accuracy.

    • Galen says:

Really? Name two things that he’s been inaccurate about, ever…

    • joemack says:

Glenn Beck is more accurate than MSNBC.
      Don’t use ad hominem attacks.
      Is it true or not?
Did our government support the Syrian uprising with arms from Libya?
Could have. What was our ambassador doing in Benghazi without adequate security?
He met with a Turk. Why?
Don’t attack the messenger. What did BHO, pbuh, know, and when did he know it? Why did he blame a video clearly not related to the attack?
and why are you so attached to a liar?

  3. Ragspierre says:

You can’t connect dots your blinkers prohibit you to see.

The Collective lives in a delusional bubble, or cocoon, and Obama is Not Optimal Prime in that regard.

He will not see what is there. This is extremely dangerous to the entire world.

  5. Paul A'Barge says:

How about that LA Times holding back the video of the Obama with the Palestinian video? Never seen it, have we. And this appeared before the 2008 election.

Make no mistake, you will never have answers about Benghazi. Ever.

    • Ragspierre says:

      Apples and oranges, Paul.

I think you are wrong. Toooooo many people know too much, and the record is there.

We already have most of the answers to most of the several scandals at work here.

  6. Poohman says:

I posit a conspiracy theory. Obama had no idea what the “State” department was doing. Hillary reduced the security to nothing on purpose. To encourage exactly what happened, maybe even with encouragement. I suspect she even calculated that Obama would not send in the troops.

    Revenge!

Why is Bill campaigning for Obama? To be the only man standing once this administration is swept away – and there will be some document absolving Hillary of any culpability.

  7. Kafir says:

Another smoking gun: on the morning of 9/11, the consulate was being photographed by one of the Libyan police officers that was supposed to protect it. The staff complained about this to the Libyans authorities, and also about the lack of protection. If they warned the Libyans, they must have warned the State Department too.
