Wow …

Even in death, Teresa Marquard put her beloved husband first when she pushed him out of the way of an out-of-control vehicle barreling towards them.

The 58-year-old mother of three from Philadelphia was pronounced dead at the scene Sunday after being struck by a suspected drunken driver. Her spouse of 42 years, Albert, was left unharmed.

‘She saved my dad,’ the couple’s daughter Denise Hirschman tearfully told 6ABC. ‘She pushed my dad out of the way.

‘That was what she cared about. She cared about us more than anything.’

  1. Joanne Jones says:

I attended Teresa’s wake last night and stood in line in the drizzling rain and cold night air for about an hour waiting to enter the funeral home. I was only one of many. The line went on and on around a city block. Many are wondering why the name of the person responsible for Teresa’s death has not yet been revealed to the press. Just curious.

  2. Dan says:

“police say a drunk driver, identified as 33-year-old Eric Luciano, swerved across Frankford Avenue onto the sidewalk and hit Teresa Marquard. She pushed her husband out of the way to save him.”
