Consider the Source: Radio Advertisers Want No Rush Or Hannity

May 9, 2013

This Business Insider item links to HuffPo which has an interesting, though not fully disclosed, item in its piece.

Good morning,  AdLand. Here’s what you need to know today:

A high ranking source at Cumulus radio told the Radio Ink that 48 out of 50 advertisers gave orders to exclude “Rush and Hannity” from their packages. Of course the radio company that distributes Limbaugh’s show released a statement that the claim is “completely inaccurate.”

Via HuffPo: so who is this Josh Blevins, so eager to comment for the HuffPo item?

Premiere, the radio company that distributes Limbaugh’s show, hotly disputed the report, saying in a statement that it was “completely inaccurate,” and adding, “A number of the top spenders in the medium use talk radio to promote their brands and sell product, and many of them use The Rush Limbaugh Show and The Sean Hannity Show as the driving force of their marketing efforts.”

There was one person willing to talk about Limbaugh’s ad sales openly on Tuesday:

Lots of reports today on how Rush Limbaugh is costing his stations big in ad $. I was just solicited for dirt cheap adverts during his show.

And it seems his restaurant, or whatever business, loves to play politics, as well. Via their Facebook page cited here by Josh himself at the Arkansas Times website. Nah, no agenda here, just a good source HuffPo happened across. I’m sure.

This week, a national fast food chain made headlines for its efforts to oppose equality for certain citizens. We just wanted to let you know that for the rest of July, we’ll be donating five percent of our profits to the Human Rights Campaign, an organization dedicated to promoting equal rights for all Americans.
