USGS 5.7 earthquake strikes north of Sacramento
A 5.7 earthquake struck near this small town northeast of Chico at 8:47 p.m. Thursday, according to the United States Geological Service.
The quake was felt as far south as Lodi, Stockton and even Oakley. The USGS reported a 3.5 magnitude aftershock struck around 8:55 p.m. and a 2.6 magnitude aftershock at 9:07 p.m.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage in Plumas, Butte or Placer counties, according to a tweet from the California Department of Emergency Management.
