GOP Establishment’s War on Senator Ted Cruz Continues

By

This below by Peter Wehner is completely unnecessary nonsense driven by nothing more than a willingness to undermine the more genuinely conservative wing of the Republican Party. Mitch McConnell was and has been guilty of the very same thing. There’s no reason for a republican in good faith to even be highlighting this, now.

I remember the government shutdown and subsequent time frame. No matter what one thinks of the strategy – I wasn’t it’s biggest fan – it ended just as the Obamacare website got up and running, with all of its faults and problems. The topic shifted and only Democrats and establishment GOP hacks like McConnell, with an ax to grind against conservatives, wanted – and apparently still want – to keep it in the news. It’s over. Get over it!

There are only two factions interested in still dwelling on this – the Left and establishment Republicans who hope to damage conservatives. Yet, those very same GOP hacks will forgive every establishment misstep and tell us, we need to put this, or that behind us, come together and move on.

What they mean is, they are only interested in doing that on their terms with their own weak crony-capitalist GOP hacks willing to throw principle under the bus for political expedience on the path to K Street. To Hell with them and this not unexpected nonsense from Peter Wehner.

Now why oh why would Senator Cruz want to stop talking about the government shutdown? After all, before it occurred he insisted it wouldn’t be such a bad thing–and since it’s occurred he’s claimed it was a wonderful success. “I think we accomplished a great deal,” according to Cruz.

“After all, before it occurred he insisted it wouldn’t be such a bad thing”

    And it was not.

“–and since it’s occurred he’s claimed it was a wonderful success.”

    By many measures, it was.

“I think we accomplished a great deal,” according to Cruz.

    And he’s exactly right.

McConnell is a bitter and dangerous person. What Cruz did was spot on, and his result was foreseeable by a competent and born leader. Those facts highlight a bigger fact. McConnell and Boehner are not up the demands of a war time command. Cruz is more in touch with reality than McCConnell, in his, like Boehner, throws of self-interest, will ever will be. McConnell is a loser who will breed losing like bad cowhocked horse. McConnell is bad seed, a loser, don’t breed your stock with him or his. He is tainted. Shed him, retire him. Better, he looks like glue fodder to me.

  2. Warren says:

    Teabagger fail.

    • Ragspierre says:

At what did you fail, “Warren”?

Warren the teabagger expert had to consult with his Obama buddies at the bath
house for confirmation of his extensive research and to pick up his foodstamps.

  3. Kaye says:

What Ted Cruz proved, in my opinion, is that he and a handful of others were/are willing to actually speak out to protect us from a government that’s OUT OF CONTROL and drunk on power. Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Rand Paul (and there are a few others) are the main guys out there discussing the Constitution!!! That Constitution belongs to us and by gosh someone in DC needs to take it seriously!

  4. MaggieMae says:

Warren has no intelligent argument to make, hence the name calling.

  5. Scott says:

Ted Cruz proved that the establishment GOP are working to solidify the hegemony of the political class and couldn’t care less about the plight of ordinary American citizens. They haven’t fought a whit against Obama…it is all show. They all will be thrown out in November if they don’t shape up. Americans are angry and the political class is out of touch and out of control.

  6. Suzanne says:

Ted Cruz was right. The rollout of Obamacare proved that, or should have made it obvious. And thanks for the name calling warren. You could have at least a little imagination. Teabagger is so overused.

  7. Bill G says:

The shutdown occurred when Obama and Reid refused any compromise or delay on PPACA.
It’s worked out so well, why would anyone have argued against it?

  8. Carla Miller says:

All republicans agree on all issues. This is a discussion on tactics. Some of the junior members of Congress want to behave like junior members….then throw tantrums when they get called on it! We have solid conservative senators who are proven leaders. Pay your dues, teabaggers, then you can be taken seriously.

    • Ragspierre says:

This HAD to be a parody, because it would be hard to fathom anyone seriously being this stupid.

      Start from the first sentence…

      • JimBear says:

You are right. The Left is so reflexively stupid that they have no idea there is a difference between the establishment statist GOP and Conservatives.

    • Veritas says:

      Carla:

Maybe you agree with McCain and Romney on all their stands, but the majority of Republicans don’t. That’s why they lost. And asking people to bow to the will of corrupt old bulls who lie, cheat, and slander only defines who you are.
