via Drudge - ABC is reporting that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi recently escaped capture by US Task Force 626 in Iraq by a matter of feet - though a vehicle containing his computer hard drive was seized.
An informant had tipped US forces who set up road blocks to apprehend Zarqawi. However, when one vehicle was stopped, a pick-up believed to contain the terrorist turned around and fled before reaching the check point.
US forces pursued the vehicle, capturing Zarqawi's driver, body guard and computer. Zarqawi is said to have jumped out as the fleeing vehicle went under an overpass. Predator drones and other observation equipment also made up part of the force after Zarqawi.
It's believed he then fled to a safe house, which was later located by the task force and the owner was placed under arrest.
